Section 1.10.030 Form of Government.

    1.  Sioux City shall be governed by the council-manager-at-large form of government as provided by Iowa Code Section 372.6 with the mayor elected by the qualified electors of the city.
    2. The mayor shall be elected for a four-year term and four council members shall be elected at-large for four-year terms by the qualified electors of the city.
    3. Elections shall be held every two years.  The mayor and one council member shall be elected beginning with the regular city election to be held in 2007 and every four years thereafter.  Three council members shall be elected at the next regular city election in 2009 and every four years thereafter.
    4. The mayor is a member of the city council and may vote on all matters coming before the city council.
    5. The mayor shall appoint one of the council members as mayor pro tem following each city election.
