Section 10.20.020 Designation of city parking lots - designation of parking spaces and metered parking spaces on city streets and within city streets and within city parking lots.

Chapter 10.20 PARKING AND PARKING METERS

1. The city manager, or his designee, is authorized to determine and designate the location of parking lots; to determine the applicable rate to be enforced at individual parking spaces within city parking lots pursuant to the above schedules; and, to determine the method to be used to collect the applicable parking fees at individual parking lots.

2. The city manager, or his designee, is authorized to designate and determine the location of individual parking spaces, permit only parking spaces and metered parking spaces on public property and/or on public right-of-way within the city.

3. Designated parking spaces shall be marked off by lines painted or durably marked on the parking lot surface, curb and/or street surface adjacent to curbing.

4. Designated metered parking spaces shall be marked as indicated above in subsection 3, and the parking meter installed upon the curb and/or immediately adjacent to said parking space.

5. Designated permit parking only spaces shall be marked as indicated in subsection 3 and the sign designating the space as permit parking only shall be installed upon the curb and/or immediately adjacent to said parking space. Unauthorized persons parking without a valid permit in a permit only parking space shall be subject to the penalties as set forth in Section 10.24.030(2)(e) and further violators may be towed pursuant to Section 10.82.030(7).
