Section 10.20.030 Parking meters - Definition, installation, maintenance, and regulation.

    1. A parking meter is defined as a mechanical device so designed as to display a signal showing legal parking for a given period of time upon the deposit of the appropriate coin or coins, lawful money of the United States of America, and further designed so that upon expiration of the lawful time limit, it will indicate by a proper, visible signal that the lawful parking period has expired, and displaying language to the effect that upon expiration of the time limit, the right of such vehicle to occupy such space shall cease and the operator, owner, possessor or manager thereof shall be subject to criminal penalty.
    2. The city manager, or his designee, shall be responsible for the installation, regulation, and maintenance of all parking meters designated and placed in accordance with this chapter.  (Ord. 85/T-3504; S-27808, 1975)
