Chapter 10.25 NONCONSENSUAL MOTOR VEHICLE TOWING
Section 10.25.040 Records required.
All towing companies and storage lots performing nonconsensual tows shall have and maintain
a record
book containing an accurate description of the nonconsensual services provided; the place where the
service
was provided or from which a vehicle was towed; the full name of the driver of the tow vehicle; the
time the
vehicle arrived at the storage lot; the license plate number of the motor vehicle serviced; the name
and
address of the person requesting or authorizing the service; a description of the vehicle towed; the
name and
address of the registered owner; and the name, address and phone number of the party to which the vehicle
was released. All record book entries shall be clearly written in permanent ink and in the English
language.
The book required by this section shall be open to inspection at all reasonable times by any member
of the
police force, inspection services, or city clerk’ s staff when they are checking for violations
of this
