Chapter 10.30 MISCELLANEOUS CITY RULES OF THE ROAD
Section 10.30.125 Permit application and granting.
1. A person may park a recreational vehicle in excess of the restrictions found in 10.30.120(3) if the person obtains a permit from the City. Each person desiring a City recreational vehicle parking permit shall file with the city an application for a permit not less than seven days before the requested effective date on forms provided by the City and available at the City Clerks Office. The applicant must set forth the following information:
a. Name and current address of applicant;
b. Phone number of applicant;
d. Driver's license number;
e. State and County of registration and registration plate number of the recreational vehicle for which a parking permit is sought;
f. The time and date of the commencement and termination of the parking period;
g. Name, address, and telephone number of the person residing in the property in front of which the recreational vehicle will be parked;
h. A statement that the person has consented to allow the recreational vehicle to be parked for the time requested in front of the persons property;
i. A statement that the contents of the application as completed are true.
2. At the time the application is completed there will be no fee for processing the application. The application shall be submitted to the Police Chief for the a recommendation. The Police Chief shall approve the permit unless the parking of the recreational vehicle will create a safety hazard.
3. The applicant shall not be less than 18 years of age.
4. The time duration for the permit shall not be more than three (3) days. A permit shall not be issued to the same applicant more than once in any 30 day period, and not more than three times in any calendar year for the same location or for a location within three city blocks from any preceding application.
5. Recreational vehicle parking permits are only permitted for recreational vehicles that have registration plates from outside Woodbury County, Iowa.
6. Once the permit is issued, it must be displayed in the drivers side front window of the recreational vehicle or the street side of a trailer for which the permit has been issued. If a permit is denied, the denial shall be subject to appeal to the city manager. The appeal must be made within three days of the denial. The city managers decision shall be final.
7. The recreational vehicles permit is non-transferable to another owner or recreational vehicle.
8. The person residing at the property in front of which it is proposed to park a recreational vehicle, may, on behalf of the operator of the recreational vehicle, complete the application for a permit to park a recreational vehicle on the streets of the city. (Ord. 2007-1016)
