Section 10.30.350 Noise sound pressure level measurement.

    1. For the purpose of determining noise sound pressure levels as set forth in Section 10.30.340, the following test procedures and measurements are applicable:
            a. The instrumentation for determining noise sound pressure levels shall be with a sound level meter of standard design as defined in this chapter.  The sound pressure level measurement shall be made with the "A" weighting network.
            b. (1) Sound pressure level(s) shall be measured at a linear distance of at least twenty-five feet from the near side of the nearest traffic lane being monitored and at an elevation of at least four feet above the immediate surrounding surface.
            (2) Noise from a motor vehicle which is located other than within the public right-of-way shall be measured at a distance at least twenty-five feet from said motor vehicle and at a height of at least four feet above the immediate surrounding area.
    2. Whenever a police officer arrests an operator of a motor vehicle in violation of Section 10.30.340, he may order the operator thereof to transport his vehicle to an appropriate testing location for evaluation.  (Ord. 91/T-10306)
