Chapter 12.06 HIGH-VOLTAGE ELECTRIC LINES
Section 12.06.030 Clearances or safeguards required.
Except where electrical wires have been de-energized and
visibly grounded, or barriers have
been erected to prevent physical and arcing contacts with the high-voltage overhead lines, the
following provisions shall be met:
1. Over Lines. The operation, erection or handling of tools,
machinery, apparatus, supplies or
materials, or any part thereof, over high-voltage overhead lines located upon a public street, is
prohibited.
2. Restricted Activities. The operation, erection, storage
or movement of tools, machinery,
equipment, apparatus, materials or any structure, or any part thereof, upon any public street,
within the clearances from high-voltage overhead lines set forth in Table X, is prohibited.

3. Presumption. Any overhead line shall be considered to
be energized unless and until the
person owning or operating such line verifies that the line is not energized, and the line is visibly
grounded at the work site. (Ord. S-29555, 1976).
