Section 19.04.307.4 Section 307 – Open Burning
Section 307.4 is amended by adding the following new subsection:
“307.4.3 – Open Burning.
(a) A permit shall be obtained from the fire code
official to conduct any type of open burning. No
permit is required for the use of outdoor fireplaces, fire pits or the like.
(b) Leaf burning prohibited. The Fire Chief shall
not permit the burning of leaves at any time without
the specific approval of City Council. It shall be unlawful for a person to burn leaves in any
manner
without a permit.
(c) The City Council may by resolution permit open burning
of landscape waste city-wide in the
appropriate season without a permit on such dates and under circumstances as the City Council may
prescribe.” (Ord. 2007-0488)
