Chapter 2.04 COUNCIL
Section 2.04.035 Robert's Rules of Order amended.
Robert's Rules of Order are amended only in the following manner:
1. Tie Votes. A vote on a motion, resolution or ordinance
which results in a tie vote shall be
deemed to be a vote to defer the matter until the next meeting of the council when it can be
finally disposed of by a majority of the council. This rule shall not apply to matters requiring
more than a simple majority vote for adoption, nor when the tie results because a council member
disqualifies himself from voting.
2. Final action on a motion, resolution or ordinance shall not
be considered by the City
Council unless the item was part of the officially posted agenda for the meeting at which the item
is introduced. This rule shall not apply to administrative matters affecting City staff nor when
waived by unanimous vote of the Council Members present. (Ord. 86/T-4700; S-27161, 1975)
