Section 2.74.020 Appointment and qualifications.

Six of the members of the commission  shall be appointed by a majority vote of the city council and shall consist of one representative of an international labor organization; one member with economic development expertise chosen by the department of economic development; one member of the local community college board of directors; one representative of the city council of the city; one representative of the city planning and zoning commission; and one representative of the local workforce development center selected by the Iowa workforce development department unless otherwise designated under chapter 15E of the Code of Iowa.  Such six members shall select the remaining three members of the commission. To be eligible to be appointed a member of the commission, the appointee must be a qualified resident elector of Sioux City, Iowa.  Before assuming the duties of the office, each commission member shall file with the city clerk an oath for the faithful performance of the member's duties, and a disclosure of the member's ownership or control or prior ownership or control within the preceding two years of any interest, direct or indirect, in any property included or planned to be included in an urban renewal project.
