Section 20.04.100 Permit to Demolish.

Any owner or authorized agent who intends to demolish a building, structure, foundation, appendage or part thereof, shall first make application for a permit a minimum ten (10) working days in advance of scheduled demolition commencement date. Any building or structure being served by utilities must have proper disconnects of services prior to commencing demolition of said structure. If work is not completed within thirty (30) days of permit issuance date, said structure may be declared a public nuisance and abated pursuant to Sioux City Municipal Code. The Manager of Inspection Services is authorized to grant one or more extensions of time for additional periods not exceeding thirty (30) days each, when the extension is requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated.
