The application of Section 20.04.180 may be waived temporarily by the city engineer in writing for a period not to exceed nine months upon receipt by the city engineer of a written request for such waiver.  The sole ground for such request shall be that the onset of cold temperatures will make the construction or repair of public sidewalks temporarily impractical. No such waiver shall be granted until the applicant has first posted bond with the city clerk in the proper amount, to be determined by the city manager after consultation with the city engineer, such bond to be forfeited if the required construction or repair is not completed in the designated by the waiver.  (Ord. 90/T-9317)
