Section 20.04.205 Building Contractor's Bond.

All persons seeking a building permit for construction under this chapter must first make and execute to the City a surety bond which shall be in the sum of $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars) conditioned on the faithful performance of all ordinances of the Code of Sioux City relating to construction; on the prompt payment to the City of all fees for permits and licenses that may become due and owing to the city; and the payment of all fines imposed upon for violation of Title 20 during the life of the bond; and on indemnifying the City, its officers, agents and employees, keeping it harmless from any liability for damages arising from his/her negligence and unskillfulness in doing, protecting and completing his/her work.  The bond shall be kept in full force and effect for a period of one year after cancellation or completion of construction.  This section shall not require a bond in addition to the bond already furnished the City pursuant to Chapter 20.14 of this Code.  This Section shall not require a bond for a person performing work on a structure owned and occupied by such person as his primary place of residence providing costs for such work does not exceed $10,000.00.
