Chapter 20.05 HOUSING MAINTENANCE CODE
Section 20.05.220 Periodic inspection fees.
1. Rental inspections which are performed on a periodic basis and of which are
not as the result of a filed
written complaint will be charged according to the following schedule:
1st inspection, There is no fee for
the first inspection of a rental dwelling unit when such dwelling unit
has a valid rental permit and when such inspection is being performed as a routine rental inspection.
1st reinspection, There is no fee for
the first reinspection made to verify that any deficiencies noted in
the first inspection of a routine rental inspection have been corrected.
Fees will be charged for all additional inspections which are required due to the landlords failure
to correct
any deficiencies noted in the first inspection.
Fees for each additional reinspection after the first free reinspection will be charged according to
the
following schedule:
2nd reinspection, $50.00
3rd and all subsequent reinspections, $100.00
each
2. In the event that a landlord or the landlords agent fails to appear
at a scheduled inspection
appointment, or fails to cancel or reschedule an inspection by giving at least one working days
notice, and
the inspector must then schedule an additional appointment, the landlord will be charged a reinspection
fee
of $50.00.
3. In the event an inspector fails to appear at a scheduled inspection appointment,
or fails to cancel or
reschedule an inspection by giving at least one working days notice, this office will pay the
landlord a
reinspection fee of $50.00, upon the landlord filing a written statement with this office, including
the date,
time and place of the appointment.
