Chapter 20.06 DANGEROUS AND DILAPIDATED STRUCTURES
Section 20.06.010 Definitions.
The following words when used in this chapter shall have the
meanings:
1. "Dangerous or dilapidated structure" means:
a. Any building,
shed, fence or other man-made structure which is dangerous to the public
health because of its condition. A dangerous condition shall include but not be limited to one
which may cause or aid in the spread of disease; or which may cause injury to the health of the
occupants of it or neighboring structures;
b. Any building,
shed, fence or other man-made structure which, because of faulty
construction, age, lack of proper repair or any other cause, constitutes or creates a fire hazard;
c. Any building,
shed, fence or other man-made structure which, by reason of faulty
construction or any other cause, is liable to cause injury or damage by its collapsing or by the
collapse or fall of all or any part of such structure;
d. Any building,
shed, fence or other man-made structure which, because of its condition
or because of lack of doors or windows, is available to or frequented by persons who are not
lawful occupants of such structure.
2. "Imminently dangerous structure" is any building,
shed, fence or other man-made structure
which, is in danger of imminent collapse of all or any part of such structure and is thereby an
imminent danger to the health and safety of the general public or adjacent property.
3. "Inspecting official" means the city manager or
his duly authorized designee.
4. "Owner" means the contract purchaser if there is
one of record, otherwise the record title
holder.
5. "Commercial structure" means any structure not
used exclusively as a dwelling unit. (Ord.
