Section 20.13.080 Applicability to building construction sites.

Chapter 20.13 PORTABLE NON-SEWERED TOILET SYSTEMS

1. Minimum number of units required. Portable non-sewered toilets must be provided by the employer for employees at all building construction job sites in accord with the following table, or in accord with requirements of the State of Iowa Division of Labor Services Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry, whichever is greater:

NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES MINIMUM NUMBER OF FACILITIES

1 to 10 l toilet

11 or more 1 toilet per each additional group of 15 workers or part thereof

2. Responsibility on multi-employer work sites. The prime, or general, contractor is responsible to ensure that the required portable non-sewered toilets are provided for the total number of employees working at the site, including subcontractors and subcontractors’ employees.

3. Location and maintenance of toilet facilities. Toilet facilities must be conveniently located for use by employees and accessible for servicing. The facilities must be kept clean and supplied with toilet tissue. (Ord. 2005-0577)
