Section 20.14.251 Sanitary sewer connection required.

    1. Every building intended for human habitation or occupancy on property which is located within two
hundred feet of a public sanitary sewer shall have a connection to such sewer. Measurement is established from the property line to the point of connection to the sanitary sewer.
    2. If such building is located on property which is more than two hundred feet from a public sanitary sewer, then the building may be provided with a septic system as specified by the code.
    3. On site private sewerage disposal systems, such as cesspools, which are in existence prior to the adoption of this code are hereby declared public nuisances. Owners of such systems are required (in accord with the requirements stated above) to:
        (a) Connect to the public sanitary sewer system within one year of adoption of this code; or
        (b) Replace such system with a code compliant septic system within one year of adoption of this code.
