Section 20.14.405 Apprentice plumber’s license.

    1. New license application.
        a. The applicant must submit a letter, on Iowa JATC, Iowa ABC, or other letterhead, stating that he is currently enrolled in an apprenticeship training program accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor.
        b. The applicant must submit a letter, on company letterhead and signed by the holder of a plumbing contractor’s license, stating that he is currently employed by a plumbing contractor, as an apprentice plumber.
        c. The applicant must pay the required license application fee.
        d. The applicant must pay the required license fee.
    2. License renewal.
        a. Licenses granted by the city under this chapter prior to the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be reissued without examination or qualification as the same or similar license as specified in this chapter.
    3. Possession of license.
        a. Current license must be carried by licensee at all times.
    4. Each licensee who has successfully completed all apprenticeship training and work experience requirements must sit for the journeyman plumber’s exam within no more than six months after date of completion.  In the event the licensee does not successfully pass the journeyman plumber’s exam, he must continue to sit for the exam at least once within each succeeding six month period, until such time as the licensee successfully passes the journeyman plumber’s exam.  (Ord. 2000-9734)
