Section 20.20.380 Classes of mechanical licenses.

Mechanical licenses are issued by the City of Sioux City in the following categories or classes:
    1. Ducted Air Heating/Cooling Contractor’ s License. This license authorizes the holder to operate a ducted air contracting business and to perform ducted air heating and cooling work in the city for any public or private entity; to charge a fee and to collect payment for furnishing such work and equipment; to obtain such work permits as are required by city code for the performance of such work. Such contractor must either possess or employ a person who possesses a master ducted air heating/cooling technician’ s license
    2. Master Ducted Air Heating/Cooling Technician’ s License. This license authorizes the holder to design, lay-out, coordinate and supervise any type of ducted air heating and cooling work typically encountered in the city while in the employment of a ducted air heating/cooling contractor.
    3. Hydronic Heating/Cooling Contractor’ s License. This license authorizes the holder to operate a hydronic heating/cooling contracting business and to perform hydronic heating/cooling work in the city for any public or private entity; to charge a fee and to collect payment for furnishing such work and equipment; to obtain such work permits as are required by city code for the performance of such work. Such contractor must either possess or employ a person who possesses a master hydronic heating/cooling technician’ s license.
    4. Master Hydronic Heating/Cooling Technician’ s License. This license authorizes the holder to design, lay-out, coordinate and supervise any type of hydronic heating/cooling work typically encountered in the city while in the employment of a hydronic heating/cooling contractor.
    5. Refrigeration Contractor’ s License. This license authorizes the holder to operate a refrigeration contracting business and to perform refrigeration work in the city for any public or private entity; to charge a fee and to collect payment for furnishing such work and equipment; to obtain such work permits as are required by city code for the performance of such work. Such contractor must either possess or employ a person who possesses a master refrigeration technician’ s license.
    6. Master Refrigeration Technician’ s License. This license authorizes the holder to design, lay-out, coordinate and supervise any type refrigeration work typically encountered in the city while in the employment of a refrigeration contractor.  (Ord. 2000-9735)
