Chapter 22.12 PREMISES, DRIVEWAYS, PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Section 22.12.040 Service Buildings and Accommodations.
1. Each recreational vehicle park shall have a service building or service buildings
conveniently located. Said service building to be devoted wholly to house the sanitary facilities
and maintain equipment for said park, said service buildings shall be maintained in a sanitary
manner and shall be well lighted, well ventilated and kept free of flies, mosquitoes and other
insects, and shall be kept free of rodent infestation.
2. The floors, walls, and ceilings of any service building or buildings shall
be of suitable
nonporous material approved by the Manager of Inspection Services Division or his designee
which can be readily cleaned, and each room or compartment thereof shall be provided with an
adequate floor drain.
3. For any number not exceeding nine recreational vehicles to be accommodated,
there shall be
installed one toilet and one lavatory for each sex, and one shower or one bathtub or combination
shower and bathtub for each sex, together with an adequate and suitable dressing room for each
sex in connection with such shower or bathroom facility.
4. For any number in excess of nine, but not exceeding twenty, recreational
vehicles to be
accommodated, there shall be installed two toilets and two lavatories for each sex, and two
showers or two bathtubs or two combination showers and bathtubs for each sex, with adequate
and suitable dressing room for each sex in connection with such shower or bathroom facilities.
5. For each twenty units over twenty recreational vehicles to be accommodated,
there shall be
installed one additional lavatory for each sex and one additional shower or bathtub or
combination shower and bathtub for each sex with adequate and suitable dressing rooms for each
sex in connection with such shower or bathroom facilities.
6. All toilet facilities shall be equipped with approved screening to provide
privacy around
such urinals and stools as may be installed.
7. All toilets, lavatories, service units, or other plumbing installations must
be installed,
maintained and used in accordance with the statutes of the State of Iowa and the ordinances of
Sioux City pertaining thereto.
8. A tightly covered, metal garbage can shall be provided for each and every
recreational
vehicle and shall be located in close proximity to each recreational vehicle and an adequate
number of refuse receptacles shall be placed in convenient locations throughout the park. All
receptacles and garbage cans must conform with the ordinances and regulations of the Inspection
Services Division of the City pertaining to garbage and rubbish collection.
9. Each mobile home park or recreational vehicle park shall be provided with
electrical service
which conforms with the electrical codes of the City.
10. Each mobile home space shall be provided with electrical service which conforms
with the
electrical codes of the City.
11. Any patron parking his recreational vehicle or mobile home in a park requiring
the use of
the sanitary facilities located within the recreational vehicle or mobile home must make
plumbing installations conform to the rules and regulations of the ordinances regulating
plumbing in the City, and such orders and directives of the Manager of Inspection Services
Division or or his designee pertinent thereto. Each unit space within a park must be equipped
with a sewer connection with and into the City's sanitary sewers according to the rules and
