Section 26.34.010 District established.

There shall be and there is hereby created in the City a self-supported municipal improvement district, the name of which shall be the "Sioux City Main Street Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District" (the "District"), the purposes of which District are the undertaking of actions authorized by the Act designed to encourage and support the redevelopment of the central business district of the City, the design and construction of any and all "improvements" and "self-liquidating improvements", as defined in the Act, and the performance of administration, redevelopment and revitalization of the District, as authorized by the Act. Such redevelopment shall include, but not be limited to reducing the vacancy rate in the office and commercial property in the district. (Ord. 93/U-1023; 90/T-8658)
