Chapter 4.36 SIGN REGULATIONS
Section 4.36.160 Signs for multiple tenancy structures and shopping centers.
1. Multiple Tenancy Structures.
a. Any business, establishment, facility or office on
any floor of a multiple tenancy structure,
other than grade level with a separate access, not through a common entrance, shall be permitted a
maximum sign area not to exceed ten square feet.
b. No exterior building sign advertising a grade level
floor tenant in a multiple tenancy structure shall
be erected or maintained at a height of more than twenty-five feet above grade or the height of the
building,
whichever is less.
c. In addition to the individual advertising signs permitted
by this subsection, a multiple tenancy
structure shall be permitted one wall-mounted building identification sign on each side of the
structure not to exceed twenty square feet in area per sign.
2. Shopping Centers and Malls.
a.
Each shopping center or mall shall be permitted one freestanding identification sign per street
frontage. The purpose of this sign shall be to identify the shopping center and tenants within
the shopping
center. The permitted sign area shall be computed as follows: one square foot for each lineal
foot of street
frontage not exceeding two hundred fifty square feet in area per sign. At the discretion of the
property
owner, a single freestanding sign not to exceed five hundred square feet in area may be erected in lieu
of the
2 two hundred fifty square foot signs. The height limit shall conform to the limits of the zone
in which
located. In computing the area not more than two street frontages shall be used, nor shall frontages
along
vacant and undeveloped land be considered. Said freestanding sign shall not be credited toward
the total
sign area permitted for each principal use.
b. Enclosed malls shall be permitted one wall mounted
sign, per primary mall entrance, not to exceed
twenty square feet in area for each entrance.
c.
Any tenant within an enclosed mall shall be permitted one wall-mounted sign not to exceed ten
square feet.
