Chapter 4.48 PAWNBROKERS AND DEALERS IN PRECIOUS METALS OR PRECIOUS GEMS
Section 4.48.030 License.
After receiving the license fee, the city shall issue to the person applying for a license, a license which shall state the name and place of residence of the person licensed, the business to be transacted, and the place or places where it is to be carried on, and the date when issued. The license fee shall be prorated on a quarterly basis and the license shall expire December 31st of each year. No person shall engage in, or carry on, the business of pawnbroker or a dealer in precious metals or precious gems, without paying the fee and procuring a license provided in this chapter, nor shall any person carry on said business in any manner contrary to the provisions of this chapter.
The proprietor's license shall be sufficient for all clerks, agents, and employees engaged or employed at each place named in the license. Every clerk, agent, or employee of any pawnbroker or dealer in precious metals or precious gems shall be subject to and bound by the provisions of this chapter and liable to the same penalties and to the same extent as his employer or principal for any violation thereof.
