Section 4.64.060 Identification of vehicles.

No license shall be issued to operate any vehicle-for-hire upon the public streets of the city unless the color scheme of the proposed vehicle to be so operated, including the monograms required to be placed upon the doors thereof, shall be distinctly different from that of the licensed vehicle-for-hire of any other vehicle-for-hire owner or operator, so that the ownership and identity may be readily ascertained by the Police Department and the patron of any such vehicle licensed under the provisions of this chapter. All color schemes shall be approved by the city clerk; provided however, in the event the city clerk denies any such color scheme, an appeal of the decision may be taken in the manner set forth in section 2.06.070.
