Section 4.64.070 Insurance.

    1. No license to operate a vehicle-for-hire shall be issued unless and until the owner has filed with the city an insurance policy issued by a company licensed to do business in the state, providing insurance coverage for such vehicle-for-hire (which must be specifically described in the policy or endorsements attached thereto), with a minimum liability coverage of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the injury or death of any one person and subject to the same limits per person, a minimum liability coverage of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for the injury or death of any number of persons in one accident, and a minimum liability coverage of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) insuring said owner against his legal liabilities for damages to the property of others.

    2. The policy shall further provide that it cannot be canceled until ten days' notice of such cancellation has been given to the city.

    3. Any cancellation or termination of any insurance policy issued in compliance with this section shall automatically revoke and terminate all licenses issued for the vehicle-for-hire covered by such insurance policy, unless another policy complying with this section shall be provided and be in effect at the time of the policy cancellation or termination.
