Section 4.64.110 Vehicles, equipment, maintenance and inspection.

    1. Vehicles For Hire must be inspected. Prior to the use and operation of any vehicle under the provisions of this chapter, the vehicle shall be thoroughly examined and inspected by a qualified mechanic and found to comply with such reasonable rules and regulations as may be prescribed by the city manager.  These rules and regulations shall be promulgated to provide safe transportation, and shall specify such safety equipment and regulatory devices as the city manager shall deem necessary therefor.
    2. Periodic inspections. Every vehicle-for-hire operating under this chapter shall be periodically inspected at least annually by a qualified mechanic to insure the vehicle is in a safe operating condition.  A valid and current "Vehicle-For-Hire Inspection Form" shall be filed with the city along with the application for a vehicle-for-hire license.
    3. Vehicles for Hire Must be Kept in a Clean and Presentable Condition. Every vehicle operating under this chapter shall be kept in a clean and presentable condition according to rules and regulations promulgated by the city manager.  (Ord. 98/U-6342; 93/U-1222; S-31568, 1976)
