The purpose of this chapter is to regulate broadband telecommunications networks in Sioux City, Iowa, which operate pursuant to city franchise for the provision of cable television and other services;  providing definitions; providing a method for selection of a franchisee; providing for the term, nature and franchise area; providing for the payment of a franchise fee; providing for the terms, conditions and requirements relating to the construction, operation and maintenance of the BTN; providing for the regulation of the BTN; providing for rates and changes; providing for penalties and damages; providing for termination of the franchise; and providing for the severability thereof. This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "broadband telecommunications regulatory ordinance."  (Ord. S-35454, 1978)
