Chapter 4.70 BROADBAND TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS
Section 4.70.200 Network description.
The broadband telecommunications network permitted to be installed in this chapter shall:
1. Be operationally capable of relaying to subscriber terminals
those television and radio
broadcast signals for the carriage of which the franchisee is now or hereafter authorized by the
Federal Communications Commission;
2. Consist of a cable network having a minimum initial forward
band width in compliance with
the technical standards and rules of the Federal Communications Commission; provided, that if a
reverse or feedback circuit is routed through a subscriber's premises, it shall be connected so as
to permit subscriber notification and deactivation;
3. Provide at least one dedicated, noncommercial access channel
for use by the educational
and governmental agencies within the city;
4. Provide at least one channel for programming of local weather
conditions and time;
5. Provide one local origination access studio with its associated
production equipment;
6. Provide at least one channel each for those educational and
public access uses as now or
hereafter required by the Federal Communications Commission;
7. Have a minimum capacity of twenty channels. (Ord. S-35454,
