Chapter 5.20 SOLID WASTE
Section 5.20.035 Solid waste containers.
All solid waste materials which are to be removed by the city in accordance with section 5.20.080 shall
be
deposited in one or more of the following types of acceptable containers:
1. For garbage or rubbish, a standard metal or plastic
garbage can not exceed 35 gallons and not
weighing over 65 pounds. Such garbage can shall be covered at all times with tight, close fitting
lids.
2. For garbage or rubbish, heavy duty plastic bags that
are not overfilled and are securely tied at the
top. The bags should not exceed 35 gallons capacity and should not weigh over 35 pounds.
3. Bundled newspapers and/or periodicals that are securely
tied.
4. For recyclable materials, containers approved and provided by the city or
other containers approved by
the director not to exceed 35 gallons and not weighting over 65 pounds. Containers not provided
by the city
shall be open topped and shall have "RECYCLABLE MATERIALS" written on them in a manner legible
from a distance of twenty feet.
5. For garbage or rubbish, a 90-gallon refuse container
as provided by the city.
6. Other containers as directed by the city manager.
