Section 5.20.110 Vehicles used for transporting solid waste.

All vehicles used in the transportation of solid waste materials shall comply with the following specifications:
    1. If such vehicle is to be used for the transportation of liquid or semi-liquid solid waste materials, then it shall be equipped with, and such solid solid waste materials shall be deposited in, either a water tight metal tank or one or more water tight metal vessels for containing solid wastes, both or all of which shall be equipped with tight, closed-fitting lids or covers.  Except for removal thereof, and the necessary use of such tank or vessel, the lids or covers shall be kept in place at all times, and none thereof when containing any liquid substance shall ever be filled to an extent greater than a point six inches from the top thereof.  
    2. If the vehicle is to be used for the handling of solid waste materials then all items must be covered and/or securely tied down to prevent the spilling, dropping, or blowing of the contents thereof upon the streets, alleys or public ways of the city.
    3. Sanitary disposal project personnel shall be empowered to issue citations to vehicles not in compliance with the provisions of this Chapter or in accordance with Section 5.20.150. (Ord. 94/U-2559, 92/U-359, S-27210, 1975)
