Chapter 5.24 PRIVATE DUMPS
Section 5.24.100 Applicability - exceptions.
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to:
1. The city, or its designated agents;
2. The grading, movement or deposit of dirt or rock in connection with the construction
of a highway,
building, or other structure; provided however, burial of garbage shall not be permitted;
3. The dumping of rock or dirt for the improvement of a private drive or the
dumping of dirt for the
improvement of the grade of a private yard;
4. Composting operations involving less than one ton of material.
5. Salvageable material stored in compliance with Chapter 4.44 of the Municipal
Code of Sioux City.
