Chapter 7.03 ANIMAL CONTROL
Section 7.03.120 Euthanasia.
1. The owner of any animal, upon proof of ownership, may request the animal
control unit to humanely
destroy his/her animal upon:
a. Signing a consent and release for such procedure
on a form provided by the poundmaster or his/her
designee;
b. The poundmaster may collect
a nonrefundable fee. The fees for euthanasia of animals shall be as
provided in the prevailing schedule of fees adopted by the city council.
2. If all of the above conditions are met, the animal control unit shall humanely
dispose of such animals
in a manner provided for by law. The owner of an animal that is euthanatized is still responsible
for any
outstanding license, impoundment or quarantine fees.
