A person who has ownership or custody of an animal shall not abandon the animal, except that person may deliver the animal to another person who will accept ownership and custody or the person may deliver the animal to an animal shelter. A person who violates this section is guilty of a simple misdemeanor.  (Ord. 91/T-10237)
