Section 8.24.280 Wire security fences.

        No person, firm or corporation shall erect any wire security fence within the RG 8, RG 20, RG 28, RG 50, RD 60, RS 70, or RS 120 zoning districts, or any residential lot or use located in any other zone. Wire security fences within the MA, ML, MH, AG, RE and R zones are permitted, only if the bottom of said fence is at least six feet above ground; such fences shall not be placed within ten feet of any school grounds or public park.  Any such wire fence which violates this title shall be removed upon notice from the mayor or chief of police.  Wire security fence located within the AG and RE zones shall be permitted at any height, provided that the principal permitted use on the property is agricultural, animal husbandry, or any other permitted use requiring security fencing.  Wire security fence in the AG and RE zones is not permitted if the principal use on the property is residential.  Wire security fences used in conjunction with a City owned operation shall be allowed, regardless of zone, and subject to the height and location requirements stated above.
    “Wire Security Fencing” means any barbed wire, razor wire, wire coils, brush wire, or any other type of wire fencing used to specifically prohibit trespassing by means of injury or bodily harm.  “Wire Security Fencing” does not mean chain link fencing.
