Chapter 8.48 MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES
Section 8.48.080 Entering or attempting to enter a facility licensed to operate gambling games.
1. It is unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one years to enter
or attempt to enter a
facility licensed to operate gambling games pursuant to Chapter 99F of the Iowa Code, unless
said person is exempted from this section as provided in subsection 2 of this section.
2. Exemptions
a. Persons eighteen years of age or older are permitted
to enter on said facilities if they are
employed by the operator of the facility and are on duty at the time.
b. Persons under twenty-one years of age may be permitted
into the gaming areas for the
purpose of getting to the area designed for activities and interests of persons under the age of
twenty-one years if prior to attempting to enter said facility they contact a representative of the
operator and are escorted to said section of the facility.
c. This prohibition shall not apply to those facilities
or those portions of facilities licensed
by state of Iowa for pari-mutual gaming.
3. Violation penalty. Any person, fire, corporation, or association
violating any of the
provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a simple misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall be subject to a fine of at least fifty dollars but not to exceed one hundred dollars
or
imprisonment not to exceed thirty days. (Ord. 99-7702)
