Boards and Commissions
Sioux City is a community rich in diversity and strives to achieve
geographic, gender, and racial balance on each of the boards and commissions.
Members are provided materials to read in preparation for each meeting. They
must be willing to receive citizen input where appropriate, and they are often
required to make important decisions regarding the City's current and future
operations. Board and commission members are required to attend at least
three-fourths of the monthly meetings to retain their appointment. Other
requirements vary for each board or commission, which are specified in each
board link below.
Serving on a board or commission is very rewarding. Improvements in the
community's quality of life are a direct result of their dedication and hard
work. Members are encouraged to help recruit others to apply for vacancies, and
applications are available in the Customer Service Center during all business
hours.
