EVENTS FACILITIES ADVISORY BOARD
The Events Facilities Advisory Board makes recommendations on the operation of the Tyson Events Center, the Sioux City Convention Center, Orpheum Theater, IBP Ice Center, and Tourism Bureau in Sioux City in a professional and businesslike manner so as to generate optimum revenues from the facilities while minimizing expenses. The Board's principle goal is to ensure effective operations and keep the operating subsidy from general tax dollars to the lowest possible amount; at the same time maximize the economic impact of the economy of Sioux City through the use of the facilities.
(This board was previously known as the CCAT - Convention Center, Auditorium, and Tourism Board. The name and type was changed in 2006)

NUMBER Of MEMBERS: 12 (City Manager, ex-officio, shall be a non-voting member of the Board.)
TERM: 3 Years
MEETINGS: 4th Friday of each month, 12 p.m.
LOCATION: Sioux City Convention Center, 801 4th Street
MEMBERSHIP: Six of the members of the commission shall be appointed by a majority vote of the City Council and shall consist of: one member representative of an international labor organization; one member with economic development expertise chosen by the Department of Economic Development; one member of the local community college board of directors; one member representative of the City Council of the City; one member representative of the City Planning and Zoning Commission; one member representative of the local Workforce Development Center selected by the Iowa Workforce Development Department unless otherwise designated under Chapter 15E of the Code of Iowa. Such six members shall select the remaining three members of the commission. To be eligible to be appointed a member of the commission, the appointee must be a qualified resident elector of Sioux City, Iowa.
