Any citizen can address the Council in reference to any item on the agenda, or during "Citizen Concerns". We understand your time is valuable. Our goal is to meet your needs, and those of the community, while conducting the most efficient meeting possible. While not mandatory, we ask that you fill out a speaker card and submit it upon entering the meeting. This allows us to better serve you by being immediately aware of your concerns and inviting you to speak sooner if it refers to an item on the agenda. Also, some citizens are not able to stay for the entire meeting and it allows us information to contact them later to address their concerns. Lastly it provides an immediate, accurate record for the City Clerk to include in the minutes.

If you do not feel comfortable completing a card, that is your choice. You are still welcome to speak during citizen concerns or when your concern relates to any specific agenda item as it is discussed. We welcome and encourage your participation. It is your input, ideas, suggestions, and perspective that helps us to make important decisions for the future of your families and ours. Together we can make Sioux City the best that it can be!
