IOWA PARK & REC ASSOC CO-SPONSOR EVENTS
IPRA events require participants to be an Iowa resident and show proof of age to advance. Top finishers in each age group can advance.
Placekick, Punt & Throw is a football throwing and kicking contest for youth boys & girls ages 8-13. Contestants will receive two attempts to placekick, punt and throw a football. The two top finishers in each age division qualify for the state competition. Must be an Iowa resident. The 2011 local contest will be held at Riverside Park on September 25, 2011 from 12pm-1pm. The cost is $4/person. Pre-registration required.
Spot Shot is a basketball shooting contest for youth boys & girls ages 8-13. Contestants will shoot for 1 minute from 7 spots on the court getting points for each shot made. The top two finishers in each age division advance to the state competition. The 2011 local contest will be held at the Long Lines Family Rec Center on February 20, 2011 from 2-3pm. The cost is $4/person. Pre-registration required.

Hershey Track Meet is a track event for boys & girls ages 9-14. Events include the standing long jump, softball throw, 50M, 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1600M, and the 4X100 races. Winners of each event will advance to the state meet in Marshalltown, IA. The 2010 local meet will be held at Olson Stadium on May 1, 2010, starting at 10am.
