LEAD-BASED PAINT HAZARD CONTROL GRANT
Funds have been provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for the City of Sioux City to administer a Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant program. The program develops, demonstrates, and promotes cost-effective, preventive measures to correct lead-based paint hazards that produce serious effects in children, with a particular focus on low income households. The program is committed to supporting HUD's strategic goal of strengthening communities by addressing housing conditions that threaten health.
If you own a residential property (either single-family or multi-family) constructed prior to 1978 and there is a child under the age of six living in that property, you may qualify for assistance under the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant.
