2019 Pooch Paddle
Riverside Pool will host the annual Pooch Paddle on Monday, August 19 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for small pooches and Tuesday, August 20 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for large pooches. The event allows dogs and their owners an opportunity to cool off in the water before the pool is drained for the season. Small pooches must be at knee height or shorter, weigh less than 40 lbs., and attend the Monday session. Larger pooches may enjoy the pool on Tuesday. The cost is $5 per dog and all proceeds will be used to enhance the Sioux City Dog Park located in Bacon Creek Park.
City staff would like to remind citizens the Pooch Paddle event is only allowed in the public pool after it has been closed for the season. Chemicals remain in the pool to keep it sanitized and safe for furry users. Dog owners should not enter the pool past their waist. Riverside Pool will be drained shortly after the event.
