USA Judo Invites the Community to Try Judo for Free
USA Judo and the Sioux City Judo Club will offer a “Try Judo for Free” day on Tuesday, October 29th, from 6-7 pm. The free event will be held in the Hall of Fame Room on the first floor of the Long Lines Family Recreation Center, 401 Gordon Drive. Persons of all ages are invited to try judo for free that evening.
Judo is an exciting, dynamic sport involving throws and pins for children and including chokes and joint locks for adults. “The ‘Try Judo for Free’ days are an opportunity to introduce judo to new audiences, while allowing our clubs to interact with their community,” explained Keith Bryant, USA Judo CEO. “It’s designed to be a fun introductory event to showcase the sport of judo to our family, friends, and local communities."
Individuals wishing to participate should wear sweatpants and a t-shirt. Individuals with long hair should tie their hair back.
The Sioux City Judo Club, a Parks and Recreation program, is hosting the event. The club instructor is Karen Mackey, sixth degree black belt and retired national-level competitor.
