Post Date:12/20/2019 2:37 PM

Due to the Christmas Holiday on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, garbage, yard waste and recycling collection will be delayed by one day beginning on Christmas Day; Wednesday’s regularly scheduled route will be picked up on Thursday, Thursday’s regularly scheduled route will be picked up on Friday, and Friday’s regularly scheduled route will be picked up on Saturday.

The Citizen’s Convenience Center on 28th Street will close at noon on December 24, 2019 and be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2019.

Trash Storage
City Ordinance requires that garbage be stored in a garbage container and any loose trash be contained within a garbage bag. Storing trash appropriately will help prevent it from being scattered or blown around. It is the responsibility of the owner to pick up any garbage or yard waste that has been scattered, blown about, or spilled from their containers onto the owner’s property, neighboring properties, or onto public or private right-of-way.

Glass Recycling
As a reminder, glass recycling is available at various locations throughout the city. For locations please go to our website at:

Per City Ordinance, solid waste materials or yard waste containers shall not be placed in the right-of-way for residential collection more than twenty-four hours prior to the regular collection day and must be removed from the right-of-way within twenty-four hours of collection.

Residents are asked to please place all materials to be collected at the curb by 4:00 a.m. on their scheduled collection day.

One-time use stickers for additional containers are available for residents to purchase at City Hall and at all major grocery stores.
