Museum Announces Winter Break Programming and Hours
With out-of-town visitors arriving soon and schools on break, the Sioux City Public Museum has free winter break programming on the days after the two major holidays.
The Sioux City Public Museum will be closing at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day. The Museum reopens on Wednesday, December 26 with the family-friendly game “Museum Bingo.” During regular opening hours December 26-January 5, visitors are encouraged to explore the Museum by locating artifacts throughout the permanent gallery that match the photographs on the all new Bingo playing cards. Players may make their own style of play - diagonal, horizontal or vertical lines, corners or complete blackout.
The Sioux City Public Museum will be close early on New Year’s Eve and be closed on New Year’s Day, December 31 and January 1.

The holiday hours for the Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center, 1000 Larsen Park Road, were also announced. The Welcome Center will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Welcome Center will close at 1 p.m. the day before the holidays and reopen after the holidays during its regular hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Sioux City Public Museum is located at 607 4th Street in downtown Sioux City. Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 712-279-6174 or visit siouxcitymuseum.org.
