Opening & Dedication of Leeds Park Splash Pad
The Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite the public to use the Leeds Park Splash Pad, 3810 41st Street. The splash pad opened today. The splash pad is operational Monday – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The new Leeds Park amenity is a zero-depth, 3,100 SF splash pad, with multiple features for kids and families to enjoy including large and small bucket water dumpers, floor geysers, water shooters, and shower sprays. Easy to operate, the splash pad includes a blue activator, located on a drain cover, that users can push with their hands or feet. The system will run for 4 minutes before shutting down.
“We are excited to open our second splash pad. The Leeds community has shown great support of the project. We are extremely pleased to be able to provide a free and accessible water amenity for everyone to enjoy,” said Matt Salvatore, Parks and Recreation Director. “The Leeds Park Splash Pad is positioned to be a great addition to the park and we truly hope visitors and residents will find it to be a fun and refreshing place to relax and socialize.”
The Department would like to make the public aware the splash pad will be closed Tuesday, May 30, to complete a caulking project. The parks opening will not impact this final caulking project.
An official splash pad dedication will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. The Parks and Recreation Department is encouraging public use of the splash pad during the dedication.
The Dale Street Park Splash Pad, 1514 Dale Street, opened today also. The splash pad is operational Monday – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
