Long-Term Recovery Group Established to Support Flood Victims

Post Date:08/16/2024 3:53 PM

In response to the devastating flooding that impacted Woodbury County, a Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) has been established to provide ongoing support to residents impacted by flooding as they begin the recovery process.

The Long-Term Recovery Group includes representatives from faith-based organizations, local non-profits, and local government, working together to assist the community in recovering from the impacts of flooding. Despite receiving insurance and federal disaster aid, some residents still face unmet needs related to the flooding. The LTRG will focus on helping residents address those challenges by connecting them with resources based on specific needs. Each situation will be unique; residents may require assistance with food insecurity, financial support, mental health services, or finding building materials.

Residents of Woodbury County can contact the Community Action Agency of Siouxland at 712-274-1610 to learn how the Long-Term Recovery Group can assist them. Residents of Union County, SD, Plymouth County, IA or Dakota County, NE can contact the Salvation Army of Siouxland at 712-255-8836.
