The City of Sioux City is continuing improvements within the Lyons Park & Isabella Square areas with the 2026 Lyons Park Investment Area Sidewalk Improvements Project and the Isabella Square and Lyons Park Area Resurfacing Project.
Construction is anticipated to start on April 13, 2026, and will occur in multiple phases through the project area. Work will include:
• Sidewalk and curb ramp improvements at intersections
• Curb and gutter replacement along select streets, including a portion of driveway approaches
• Limited storm sewer intake replacements
• Asphalt mill and overlay resurfacing for the majority of the project area
No formal detours are anticipated. Local access will be maintained, and one lane of traffic will generally remain open. Roadways may be temporarily closed during resurfacing operations and properties may experience temporary driveway access restrictions.
Sidewalk curb ramp improvements are expected to be completed in early August 2026. Asphalt resurfacing and curb and gutter work will continue until Mid-October 2026.
