Public Input Meeting for Riverfront Development Project

The City of Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., City Hall, 5th Floor Council Chambers, 405 6th Street, to provide input for the development of the Chris Larsen Park – Riverfront Development Project. The Project is proposed for the former casino location.

At the meeting, an overview of the current Riverfront Master Plan will be provided and community members will have the opportunity to participate in the schematic design process. SmithGroupJJR, Inc. of Madison, Wisconsin has been hired for design and input. The Parks and Recreation Department and Riverfront Steering Committee members will be in attendance. “We want to make sure we give everyone an opportunity to provide input toward the development of such an important part of our community”, said Matt Salvatore, Parks and Recreation Director. “We want to make sure we develop a park that the community will support and enjoy”. The schematic design process is anticipated to be completed by the beginning of 2018.
