Local Street Names Featured in Lunchtime Program
Historic maps and interesting photos of people and places will be featured at “History at High Noon: How the Streets Got their Names” on Thursday, January 18 from 12:05 to 12:45 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch to this free presentation at the Sioux City Public Museum.
Have you ever wondered about Sioux City’s street names? What do the names represent? Who named them? Presenter Tom Munson, Archives Manager, will highlight both current and historic street names, who named them, from where the names originated, and how the names have changed over the years.
The Sioux City Public Museum is located at 607 4th Street in downtown Sioux City. For more information, call 712-279-6174 or visit www.siouxcitymuseum.org.
