Post Date:02/14/2018 11:05 AM

The City of Sioux City welcomes participation from residents and businesses in a Visioning Workshop for the Sioux City Comprehensive Plan scheduled for Monday, February 26 at 6:00pm in the Long Lines Family Recreation Center 3rd Floor Conference Room. The workshop is the next step in the planning process to create a new Comprehensive Plan for the City and will allow people to share what they value most about the community and the issues they wish to see addressed.

The Visioning Workshop will include an interactive mapping exercise for participants to help shape the future of Sioux City. Results of the Existing Conditions and Plan Analysis will be shared by Houseal Lavigne Associates, the consulting firm hired to assist with the Comprehensive Plan process.

If you are unable to attend or are interested in providing additional feedback, please take the Comprehensive Plan Survey.

What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A Comprehensive Plan, or Comp Plan, is a blueprint for the future of a community. It defines a vision that is intended to guide the City for the next 20 years. The Comp Plan will result in a set of policies that direct future growth and development. Additionally, it will help effectively guide City leaders with making substantive and thoughtful decisions for the community.

The Comprehensive Plan for the City of Sioux City will address a variety of topics and will include community-wide plans for land use and development, housing and residential areas, commercial and industrial areas, transportation and infrastructure, parks and recreation, open space and environmental features, and community facilities and services. The Plan will also include detailed subarea plans for key areas of the City.
